Which shampoo would you recommend for my West Highland Terrier?

Bright & Brilliant is ideal for your West Highland Terrier with the gentle camomile and relaxing lavender scent. There are no harsh stripping agents, only natural whitening ingredients to brighten their coat.

Some West Highland Terriers have sensitive skin and if this is the case we would recommend our Soothe & Sensitive shampoo. This is fragrance free and contains soothing oatmeal to help with those sensitive coats.

If there is an underlying condition that requires veterinary attention this must not go untreated, therefore it is recommended to consult your veterinary practitioner.

My dogs coat is dull and their skin seems dry, what would you recommend?

First thing to do is wash the coat with our Soothe & Sensitive shampoo, remove any knots and loose hairs. Topcoat is a supplement to add to their feed, it contains Omega 3, 6 and 9 providing all the essential fatty acids which give a glossy coat.

If your dog suffers from pancreatitis, oils must be kept to a minimum and consultation with your veterinary surgeon is recommended.

I want to give my dog a vitamin supplement as he seems a bit run down?

Dogvital is our multi-vitamin and mineral supplement for your dog. It comes in a liquid and soft chew version.

The liquid is very handy as you put the recommended amount, depending on the size of your dog, straight into their food. If your dog tends to go off their food if you add anything to it, then try the soft chew version which they will take as a treat, one chew per 20kg so half a chew per 10kg and quarter for 5kg, once daily.

If your dog continues to seem run down consult your veterinary practitioner as there maybe some underlying cause.

My dog seems to be stiffening up and slow to get up after resting, what can I give?

Arthri-Can is the supplement which helps with arthritis, which is an inflammatory condition of the joints. This supplement contains Glucosamine and MSM (Methylsulphonylmethane), Chondroitin and Omega 3 (naturally found in green lipped mussel) which aid in reducing the inflammation and increases mobility.

As with Dogvital it comes in a liquid and a soft chew version. The liquid is very handy as you put the recommended amount depending on the size of your dog straight onto their food. If your dog tends to go off their food if you add anything to it, then try the soft chew version which they will take as a treat, one chew per 20kg so half a chew per 10kg and quarter for 5kg once daily.

My dog has a small cut on his leg, is it ok to use Dermo-Salve?

Dermo-Salve is suitable for both dogs and cats to be used on minor cuts and abrasions. The cut or abrasion should be washed thoroughly and then a small amount of Dermo-Salve applied to the area.

Don’t let your dog lick at the cut as this will cause trauma to the area, a tablock or a Elizabethan collar can be used to avoid licking of most areas of the body, just ensure the correct size is used. Do not use Dermo-Salve on deep open wounds without seeking advice from your veterinary surgeon.
